Touch. Taste. Grace and finesse. In the minds of many of his fellow guitarists, as well as those of countless fans, Jeff Beck was one of the finest players ever to pick up the instrument. From his early work with the Yardbirds to his work with the Jeff Beck Group, Beck, Bogert & Appice, as a session musician and throughout his solo career, Jeff Beck was one of the most influential lead guitarists of all time. A guitarist’s guitarist and sonic innovator, he was a master of genres who played rock, blues, hard rock, and jazz fusion; helped popularize the use of feedback, fuzz pedals, and distortion; and influenced countless players with his inimitable style. An eight-time GRAMMY® Award winner, including six times for Best Rock Instrumental Performance, Beck also received the Ivor Novello Award for Outstanding Contribution to British Music. He was also inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame twice: as a member of the Yardbirds and also as a solo artist.

His heavily modified 1954 Les Paul™, known to millions as the Oxblood due to its unique chocolate brown/oxblood finish, was immortalized on the cover of his first solo album, the groundbreaking Blow by Blow. The original Oxblood recently sold at auction for a record-setting $1.3 million. In 2009, Gibson Custom recreated the Oxblood in a limited edition run of only 50 aged guitars, which collectors still highly value. Now, Epiphone, in collaboration with Gibson Custom, is very proud to introduce the Jeff Beck Oxblood 1954 Les Paul™, based on his iconic 1954 Les Paul. It features a mahogany body with a maple cap, a one-piece mahogany neck with a long neck tenon and a Jeff Beck Custom Large C neck profile, a rosewood fretboard with 22 medium jumbo frets and aged mother-of-pearl trapezoid inlays, and a Gibson “open book” style headstock with an Epiphone logo inlaid in aged mother-of-pearl. The headstock is equipped with a low-friction Graph Tech® nut and Schaller M6 90 tuning machines. It is powered by a pair of USA-made Gibson Custombucker humbucker™ pickups that are connected to CTS® potentiometers and Mallory capacitors using 50s-style wiring. Other thoughtfully considered details are included to match the original guitar, including gold Speed knobs, a Les Paul pickguard with a gap above the bridge pickup, and a Gibson Historic Wraparound bridge. It comes packaged in an Epiphone hardshell case with Inspired by Gibson Custom graphics and includes a vintage-style replica strap. Available for a limited time, so don’t miss this rare opportunity to own an accessible tribute to one of the world’s most famous, cherished, and valuable electric guitars and the master instrumentalist who made it famous–Jeff Beck.

SPECIFICATIONS

Body

Body Style: Les Paul

Body Shape: Les Paul

Body Material: Mahogany

Top: Maple

Binding: Single Ply, Top and Fretboard

Body Finish: Vintage Gloss

Neck

Profile: Jeff Beck Custom Large C

Scale Length: 628.65 mm / 24.75 in

Fingerboard Material: Indian Rosewood

Fingerboard Radius: 304.8 mm / 12 in

Neck Material: One-Piece Mahogany

Fret Count: 22

Frets: Medium Jumbo

Nut Material: Graph Tech

Nut Width: 43.0 mm / 1.692 in

Inlays: Aged Mother-of-Pearl Trapezoid

Joint: Glued In, Set Neck; Long Tenon

Hardware

Finish: Nickel

Bridge: Gibson Historic Aluminum Wraparound

Saddle Material: Aluminum

Tuning Machines: Schaller M6 90

Pickguard: 1959 Les Paul; Cream, No Bevel, with Gap Above Bridge Pickup

Truss Rod: Dual Action

Truss Rod Cover: Single Ply Bell; Black

Control Knobs: Gold Speed with Nickel-Plated Dial Pointer

Switch Tip: Ivory

Switch Washer: Cream with Gold Text

Jack Plate Cover: Nickel Plated

Plastic Parts: Cream

Control Covers: Cream; Smooth Gloss

Strap Buttons: 2 - Bottom and Upper Bout

Mounting Rings: Cream

Pickup Covers: None

Electronics

Neck Pickup: Custombucker

Bridge Pickup: Custombucker

Controls: 2 Volume, 2 Tone; CTS Potentiometers, Mallory Capacitors

Pickup Selector: Switchcraft 3-way Toggle

Output Jack: 1/4" Switchcraft

Miscellaneous

Strings Gauge: .010, .013, .017, .026, .036, .046

Case: Black Epiphone Hardshell with Gold Hardware, Red Interior, and Gold Inspired by Gibson Custom Exterior Graphics

Accessories: Vintage-style Replica Strap

Manufacturer: Epiphone
Model: ECJB54AOXNH3
SKU: I808431-N-0-WHXC
UPC: 711106155593

We are Musictoner Musictoner

Since 1958, Chuck Levin’s Musictoner has been the trusted destination for musicians and audio professionals across Maryland, Virginia, and Washington, D.C.
