You know it when you play one - it's definitely more than the sum of its parts. The Custom Shop is home to Fender's most skilled and talented builders. It's a bustling, noisy and creatively volcanic place that re-earns its nickname - the Dream Factory - every day. Custom Shop builders are completely dedicated to their art - part craftsman, part artist, part music fan and, more often than not, part mad scientist. They're the best at what they do, and pour all of their passion, hard-earned knowledge and skill into every instrument they build. It’s no ordinary place, and the creations that come from it are no ordinary instruments.

The Fender Custom Shop 1952 Heavy Relic Telecaster is an authentic evocation of Fender’s first workhorse guitar, along with some upgraded features for modern playability. In addition to the two piece ash body, its time-honored Telecaster snap comes from its dual Nocaster pickups with three-way switching and Fender’s Greasebucket™ tone circuit, which rolls off highs without reducing gain. Other premium features include a maple neck with a Nocaster “U” profile, 7.25”-radius maple fingerboard with 21 narrow jumbo frets, 4-Ply Brown Shell Nitro pickguard, ’52 Telecaster bridge with brass saddles, and Vintage tuning machines.

Our 65th Anniversary

Musictoner was founded in 1958 and saw its early successes while the original versions of these Custom Shop Telecasters were leaving the Fender Custom shop. Like the Fender Telecaster, Musictoner has endured and thrived for decades since, to become a legend ourselves for many musicians.
