This model is crafted with back and sides of solid Indian rosewood paired with a Sitka spruce top in a big, powerful body that yields a commanding voice. Featuring the traditional X-bracing pattern favored by Bob in the early days, the 815e serves up a warm, richly textured sound with clear trebles, throaty lows and a slight scoop in the midrange, all complemented by beautifully blooming overtones. A modern Taylor neck profile offers a hand-friendly feel and relaxed fretting, while older elements like the mustache bridge and a "straight-ear" peghead silhouette capped with a rosewood veneer. Finished off with the sleek appointments Bob furnished for his original builds, this model sports white binding, a three-ring rosette in green abalone, ebony bridge pins with green abalone dots, a faux-tortoiseshell pickguard, a gloss-finished body and neck, and non-engraved Large Diamond fretboard inlays in mother-of-pearl. It includes a special Legacy interior lable and an LR Baggs Element VTC undersaddle pickup with volume and tone controls mounted inside the soundhole. It ships with a deluxe hardshell case.

SPECIFICATIONS

Highlights

Number of Strings: 6 String

Orientation: Right Handed

Body Shape: Jumbo

Bracing System: X-Bracing with Relief Rout

Cutaway: Non-cutaway

Color: Natural

Case/Bag: Taylor Deluxe Hardshell Brown

Body

Top Wood: Sitka Spruce

Back/Side Wood: Indian Rosewood

Rosette: Green Abalone 3 Ring

Back Configuration: 2-piece No Wedge

Body Binding: White

Armrest: None

Top Finish: Gloss

Back/Side Finish: Gloss

Neck

Neck Wood: Neo-Tropical Mahogany

Fretboard Wood: West African Crelicam Ebony

Neck Profile: Standard Carve

Fretboard Inlay: Mother-of-Pearl Large Non-Engraved Diamonds

Fretboard Binding: White

Neck Finish: Gloss

Peghead

Nut Width: 1-3/4"

Peghead Veneer Wood: Indian Rosewood

Scale Length: 25-1/2"

Peghead Inlay: None

Peghead Type: Standard

Peghead Binding: White

Peghead Finish: Gloss

Other

Bridge: West African Crelicam Ebony Mustache

Nut & Saddle: White TUSQ Nut, White Micarta Saddle

Bridge Pins: West African Ebony with Green Abalone Dots

Strings: D'Addario XS Coated Phosphor Bronze Medium (.013 - .056)

Pickguard: Tortoise

Tuners: Taylor Nickel with Nickel Buttons

Strap Pin: Nickel

End Pin: Nickel

Manufacturer: Taylor Guitars
Model: H805003018100073000
SKU: I801128-N-1211144016-1-WHXC
UPC: 887766134701

We are Musictoner Musictoner

Since 1958, Chuck Levin’s Musictoner has been the trusted destination for musicians and audio professionals across Maryland, Virginia, and Washington, D.C.
