Unlike many nickel over brass snares, this gorgeous Taye drum is not only plated on the shell of the snare, but on the hoops as well.  The brass shell gives it a rich and full-bodied attack, with the added warmth of black nickel plating.  Taye's innovative flip-down throw-off design is reliable and easy to use.  A great "black beauty-esque" sound at a reasonable price point.
