Expand Your Remote Outputs with the Allen & Heath DX012 12-Output 96kHz Expander

The Allen & Heath DX012 is a compact 1U 96kHz output expander designed to provide remote output expansion for compatible Qu, SQ, Avantis, and dLive mixers, as well as AHM audio matrix processors. With 12 XLR outputs and flexible switching between balanced analogue and stereo AES digital outputs, the DX012 is ideal for feeding IEM systems, amplifier racks, and other remote audio destinations.

Flexible Analogue and AES Output Options

The DX012 provides 12 XLR output connectors with multiple configuration options to suit different system requirements. It can operate with 12 analogue line outputs, 8 analogue line outputs plus 4 stereo AES outputs, or 4 analogue line outputs plus 8 stereo AES outputs. Outputs 5-12 can be switched between balanced, relay-protected analogue operation and stereo AES digital output.

Remote I/O Where You Need It

The DX012 can be positioned up to 100 meters from the connected mixer, making it well suited for distributed systems where outputs are required near monitor racks, amplifier racks, stages, or other remote equipment locations. A single Cat5e cable connects the expander to the mixer or an upstream DX Expander through a locking EtherCon connection.

Redundant or Cascaded Operation

A second locking EtherCon port provides additional system flexibility. In Redundant mode, it supports a second cable connection to compatible hardware for increased connection reliability. In Cascade mode, the port can be used to daisy-chain another DX Expander for additional remote I/O.

Plug-and-Play Integration

The DX012 is designed for straightforward deployment with compatible Allen & Heath systems. No manual configuration is required—simply connect the expander and begin working. Firmware updates are also managed automatically by the connected mixer.
