A CLOSER LOOK AT MEME™ TECHNOLOGY

Included with Barefoot Sound monitors, MEME™ Technology (Multi-Emphasis Monitor Emulation) uses advanced DSP modeling to reproduce the voicing characteristics and responses of renowned studio nearfield monitors. Using the four-position wired remote, engineers can quickly switch between monitoring perspectives from the same listening position, reducing the need for multiple monitor systems and helping keep the studio environment clean and efficient.

MEME™ Technology goes beyond simply applying an EQ curve. Each mode is designed to change multiple aspects of the monitor's response, including frequency response, transient behavior, dynamic response, and tonal balance. This gives engineers a powerful way to examine different areas of a mix and hear how it may translate across a variety of playback systems.

MEME™ Voice Modes

• Old School: Inspired by the widely recognized NS10M-style monitoring approach, this setting reduces sub-bass and top-end information while emphasizing the midrange. It provides a focused perspective for evaluating vocals, guitars, snare drums, and other critical midrange elements.
• Cube: Inspired by classic full-range micro monitors, this setting removes much of the extended high- and low-frequency information to place greater emphasis on the midrange. It is useful for evaluating how a mix may translate to laptops, tablets, earbuds, and other bandwidth-limited playback systems.
• Hi-Fi: Enhances the high frequencies while warming the midrange to emulate the character of consumer hi-fi playback systems. This setting is useful for artist playback, casual listening, and checking how a polished mix may translate to consumer systems.
• Flat: Delivers the revealing Barefoot Sound reference response without added voicing changes, providing the primary monitoring perspective for critical mixing and mastering decisions.
