Here is the Gretsch Mike Johnson Signature Brooklyn Standard snare drum in a limited edition Blue Glass Glitter finish. When famed musician and music educator, Mike Johnston, contacted Gretsch about developing a new snare drum concept, he was very specific about what he wanted it to accomplish. It needed to be extremely versatile in every way. It had to possess a wide dynamic range, and excel in all playing situations across a wide variety of tunings. Lastly, it needs to live up to the look and heritage of Gretsch Drums. Question was, could it also be accessible to students and players who are ready to step up to their very first pro-grade snare drum.  After 9 months of prototyping, feedback, and thorough evaluation, the Brooklyn Standard was born.

The combination of a 5.5x14 Brooklyn formula shell, double 45-degree bearing edges, batter side tone control, 42-strand snare wires, and 302 hoops make this drum a must-have for any serious snare collection. The drum is finished in a Blue Glass Glitter finish, then accented with Gretsch tube lugs, Lightning throw-off and Gretsch Permatone heads by Remo USA. An inside identification label specifies the year of production and is signed by Mike Johnston.
