SSL Revival 4000 Signature Analogue Channel Strip

Beloved Circuits - The Solid State Logic Revival 4000 Signature Analogue Channel Strip

The Revival 4000 is a high-performance, all-analogue channel strip from Solid State Logic, delivering the unmistakable sound of the early 1980s SL 4000 Series consoles—a sound that set the industry standard and helped shape the music of artists like Peter Gabriel, Phil Collins, Bryan Adams, Pink Floyd, Prince, U2, and Metallica. Drawing on the revered circuitry of both the B and E Series consoles, the Revival 4000 encapsulates SSL’s analogue legacy in a modern 1U rack unit.

Equipped with the classic E Series Jensen transformer-balanced mic preamp, B Series De-Esser, the discrete Class A VCA dynamics section from the E Series, and the iconic four-band parametric EQ with switchable Brown/Black knob circuits, the Revival 4000 offers a versatile, studio-grade tool designed to bring the SSL heritage to contemporary productions.

• Classic SSL 4000 E Mic Preamp: Jensen transformer-balanced JT-115K-E preamp for pristine clarity and warmth.
• 4000 B-Series De-Esser: Musical one-knob design with 10:1 ratio and 7 kHz sidechain filter for precise sibilance control.
• Ultimate E Series Dynamics: Discrete Class A VCA compressor with soft/hard knee, fast attack, and multiple release curves. Includes gate/expander with fast attack mode.
• Iconic 4-Band SSL EQ: Fully parametric mid-bands, shelving or bell high/low bands, with switchable Brown Knob (02) and Black Knob (242) EQ circuits.
• High & Low Pass Filters: Brown (12 dB/octave) and Black (18 dB/octave HPF) filter modes for flexible tonal shaping.
• Flexible Routing: Balanced insert point, external sidechain input, and sidechain linking for stereo operation.
• Comprehensive Control: +48V phantom power, polarity invert, pad, line input, line output trim, and switchable input/output metering.
